No individual is complete. No organisation is perfect. One has to make search and research to make it perfect. We are to rely on others within a group or a democratic setup. It has to be a search within and also outside its system for solutions, suggestions from all sources.

Those who are called ‘Dynasty’ are bent on making it democratic. But those self-anointed leaders without base or roots want it individual-based to impose their seniority, expertise, experience by creating a perception that only they are capable of solving problems, issues.

The entire structure of Congress was demolished by the senior leaders and experts who protected themselves and their existence in the organisational hierarchy but ignored the steps to correct weaknesses of the Congress party and to stop the erosion of its democratic processes.

Now the question is who can effect drastic changes required in the organisation to reconstruct and restore democratic participation by all freely without any inhibition, obstruction, artificial blocks created by senior and middle-level leaders. It can be no other than Rahul. 

It is no easy task. It is absolutely needed for the survival of Congress. Meticulous planning is required. Can any of these leaders successfully complete this job and keep the Congress party cohesive and united under their leadership? They can only drive towards Congress-Mukt Bharat.

Whether Rahul is elected as President or not, Congress cannot do for the present without the Gandhi family. Even if some want Congress independent of the Gandhi family, the democratic structure with checks and balances is a must to make it self-surviving. Now only Gandhis can do it.

It is not advisable to rest everything on a single shoulder. It is neither good for the Congress party nor for Rahul. Any organisation which is totally dependent on a single individual, its life, material, meaningful existence will be co-terminus with the person concerned.

This is another reason they are to reestablish and strengthen democracy within Congress. More importantly, there is a need for interaction, conversation with a free flow of information, opinion, suggestions that will ensure the right decisions using vast talents available.

Now everything gets choked with individualism and supremacies with false egos, personal prejudices, power-mongering. Rahul is aware of it and wants drastic changes to put Congress back on its democratic pedestal and Gandhian path. It should happen without further delay.

Every person within or even outside the party has a right to contribute their unlimited talents to strengthen Congress. The popular, mass leaders should be elected directly within the party’s rules without group considerations.  Such strong leaders are a must now at ground level.

Mass leaders may be created, identified, absorbed. But deeper planning and analysis are required to counter issues. The truth will prevail ultimately but it will take longer hurting the party and people. Now, this is the time to shed lethargy and old skin to rejuvenate Congress.
