The political reality after recent elections: Modi, BJP

Every political party is checkmated in a way. No one comes out with flying colours. That also includes Mamata while the left front in Kerala is least affected. The organisational weakness of Congress shows up again in results. BJP has a lot to worry about its performance.

They are using or misusing the entire machinery at full throttle. Still, results are not promising but portend a threat to their dominance. Even if there is a hint of Modi losing his grip, the suppressed, threatened independent institutions would start asserting their rights.

The pandemic threat of the second wave of the ‘Modi/ Shah/ RSS virus’ is receding. The Law of diminishing returns has set in. The extent to which they put in efforts using everything at their command has not produced any visible result in Tamilnadu, Kerala or even Puducherry.

The increased representation of BJP in the Bengal assembly should be compared with the last Lok Sabha not assembly elections in 2016, as Congress and left were nowhere even in 2019. Further BJP’s wins are in geographically far off border areas. Maybe TMC’s strength, focus was low.

BJP could hold on to its base created in Assam by dividing people, parties. BJP was in power both at the centre and the state and had a free run of unchecked misuse of power. It was able to micromanage and exploit to the maximum the organisational weaknesses of the opposition.

It is to be noted that in spite of the above factors BJP could not improve upon their performance. They perhaps reached their peak. If Congress changes its approach and strengthens its organisation to identify, create mass leaders to work at the ground level it will defeat BJP.

The above presumption may look unreal for some when they see it superficially. Wherever local opposition leaders, organisation are strong BJP failed invariably. BJP fills in a vacuum. They are also masters in creating vacuum by eating away contaminated cells of other parties.

There will be a solution only if the problem that exists is understood, analysed and addressed in the right perspective and proportions. We cannot create customised bots with the same characteristics to carry out plans. But we can adopt democratic processes to elect mass leaders.

Some Chief Ministers are assertive to question Modi. After Uddhav, Mamata now Hemant Soren joined the list. The opposition has to work on the citadels of Jagan, Naveen, KCR, Kejriwal who are pragmatically in a two-faced relationship with BJP only helping it by their actions.

The Congress and other opposition parties should understand that they cannot totally discount the possibility of the 3rd wave of ‘Modi, Shah, RSS virus’ returning back to complete their agenda of total disaster. Modi & Co love to laugh even if they are walking on skeletons.
