The event management and dramas are inseparable. Why this artificiality and stage management is needed? It is basically creating an unreal, exaggerated image and maybe to conceal the truth and reality. It is a weapon to hoodwink people. Modi has become an expert in this art.

Initially, Modi engaged technically qualified event managers. When you are street smart you employ, learn the art and then do it on your own. Why an event manager is needed to weep like Rudaalis, enact dramas like ‘chai pe charcha’ or threaten people when they come naturally.

The street smartness dramatically raises one to state, country-level stage. Why should he leave his most important weapon when he does not have any other skills? The dramas go international fooling around people. Some regret shaking hands or hugging, as it still ‘stinks’.

Modi has combined his event management skills with roleplays switching from a saint, scientist, philosopher, guide, joker, Rudaalis seamlessly with ease. People are not yet fully tired of his gimmickry. Some see him as a hero for enacting these dramas. Only very few believe them. 

When this is so why the opposition parties are employing event managers? They cannot compete with Modi in this or his dramas. Why they need it when Modi has failed to gain the trust of people with these tools? His wins are more due to his other skills of managing men and machines.

When Mamata who has a better link with people has to rely upon event managers to understand their minds, it shows there is a lack of 2way communication with them. But there are gaps in communication even with their MLAs and originally staunch supporters. The problem is deeper.

This cannot be rectified in short term by event management. Instead, reinforcing links with people, exposing lies of Modi, Shah combo may produce better results. If she is already doing so it is not visible as per reports. If not, forging an alliance with Congress is better.

The management tools and their surveys can help to some extent to understand the minds of the people and the trend to effect some corrections. The copy-pasting of these techniques will not be beneficial. Situations may be different. Assessments and visualisations may be wrong.

Why should the opposition engage in these artificialities, over imposing their image; hoodwinking people; competing with Modi and playing his game of strength which has now become more than a weakness? Why not opt for a simple, straightforward approach exposing his lies?

People are more than convinced about Modi’s gimmicks and lies. What is needed by the opposition is presenting a strong viable alternative. Simpler solutions like some open, frank communication, show of warmth will establish the trust of the people. Why should it be complicated?

Truth always earns. That trust built up will last long. One smile, one word and one tear may change. People can recognise it. Their sixth sense and conscience can discern and perceive the truth. The problems start when leaders fail to communicate; loose links; indulge in dramas.

It is surprising and even unbelievable. Rahul, Priyanka are underutilising their natural warmth, love, care, concern for people. Rahul has done on few occasions. They were effective events earning millions of views. Why this self-restraint when they love it and people need it?

There are many ways to engage with people in this technological age. The scope is unlimited on the face of it if one estimates conservatively. Maybe his leaders are not extending the kind of support he wants. Rahul needs more freedom and his leaders should listen more and act.
