Congress hassles – An approach – Part Ⅰ

Gandhi baiting, dynasty hatred is a traditional sport post-Nehru. All become very liberal in criticising them. Gandhis are true democrats despite the brand of dynasty hanging on them. They do believe that people have a right to express views.

Gandhis never respond directly to criticisms, opinions and comments. Most criticisms are rooted in hatred, dislike and not on merits. The critics are not objective, dispassionate, logical and sensible. They are not going to change. We should be more concerned about reality.

It is true that the response mechanism of the Congress is inadequate to meet the challenge of ruthless, remorseless, unethical and no-holds-barred politics of Modi/ Shah/ RSS combo. They are exploiting every weakness of the system and the people with men, money and machines.

Congress can never adopt these tactics and defeat BJP in its games.

No political party or individuals or dissenting Congress leaders can do it. BJP deliberately changed the political game with active connivance, silence of all so-called pillars of democracy. Then what next?

Silence is not the answer. It may be futile to wait for the truth to establish itself. There is need to forcibly establish it but through ethical means. Exceptional, unprecedented situations require extraordinary, exemplary, innovative effort and response from all concerned.

Rahul is the best man available to lead that path. He is not naive, nervous, unformed but has steel in him rooted in truth, philosophy and not so visible boldness. The observations of Obama may be from personal meetings where deference, respect for persons come into play.

Rahul is making measured steps, waiting for opportunities and choosing his time. His support system is failing and getting eroded. It is time he blasts his way exploding obstacles to explore and establish the truth without losing his principles, philosophies, and patience.

The correction of the support system and organisational weaknesses is of utmost importance to execute other plans and programs. There is a need for brainstorming sessions. It should be broad-based. There is no need to limit it to the AICC, Working Committee, or its leaders.

The process of discussions should be elaborate; not restrictive but channelised, orderly; should be open but methodical. It is a search and research for what is the right response to a question or situation. It should be driven by logic, sense; be inclusive but more conclusive.

Political leaders are not magicians to bring out solutions within set time-limits of minutes and hours. They wear many hats but forget to wear one that suits them; project solutions or reject conclusions on every issue. Perceptions do not always come with perfections needed.

It is not impossible to follow a systemic approach. A realisation of its value has to set in our mind. Whatever path adopted till now need not be taken as time-tested. It carried errors, of late failures.

We have talents to launch satellites but fail to outsmart thieves.
