Congress beckons freedom – Part Ⅱ

When Rahul  takes charge:

  • He speaks the truth and places his views clearly in a short, straight format. He shows his confidence and conviction while presenting his position. He has not diluted his stand under pressure.
  • Rahul can definitely use his frankness to talk directly and openly with his cadres supporters and also leaders including those at the middle and lower levels in Congress. The communication and information flow is not going to be artificially restricted. The interface of ‘poojaris’ and middlemen will be getting eliminated.
  • The congressmen, cadres, and supporters are craving for his return as Congress president. Their response and enthusiasm will see no boundaries when it happens. When he establishes direct communications and messaging with them the enthusiasm will exceed all limits.
  • He has already started the process of communicating, interacting, and also interviewing through video conferencing with experts, leaders, cadres, and people. He may extend its usage in a big way. The traction and viewership his videos are generating in millions indicates their immense popularity and acceptance of Rahul.
  • He has already set his path on pursuing truth and principles. He is bothered about the process followed and not even about the results. This he has revealed when he recently commented on Chinese aggression. “I don’t care if my whole career goes to hell. I’m not going to lie.”: Rahul.
  • He obviously believes that when the process is right the end will also be right in both the short and long term.
  • This will build up confidence among the leaders, cadres, and supporters. When your leader sets direction and target with clarity and vision openly, it will have a multiplying effect on them.
  • ‘Group of 23’ will become insignificant. But Rahul in all probability will not ignore them. It is uncharacteristic of him to do it. He will respect them for their past services and will honour them for their future potential. He tries to reason with his opponents and does not see anyone as an enemy or a threat.
  • Sonia has her difficulties. She had reservations about Rajiv entering politics. She was reluctant to enter it till 1998 when her emotional attachment for Rajiv, Indira, and Congress gave in to assume the role she played.
  • Rahul is different. He has the warm qualities of Rajiv and the firmness of Indira in him. His firm commitment to truth, his determination, and firmness to pursue his path stand out.
  • Here again, one gets reminded of Jawaharlal Nehru’s quotes – “What we really are matters more than what other people think of us.”

Scenario that may unfold:

  • Congress is on the threshold of freedom from dogmas, status quos, unreasonable compromises if one goes by Rahul’s ‘no-nonsense’ character.
  • There will be no middlemen behind the screen showing their generosity to their old friends in opposition parties at the cost of Congress. It will be a direct deal and negotiation through trusted lieutenants. Decisions will be taken at the top presently by Rahul.
  • It is not that Congress is going it alone but will be part of alliances. Leaders and parties will find that Rahul is not naive and cannot be cheated. He is not going to be blackmailed to submission. He will insist on due share, recognition, and respect for the party and its strength.
  • The alliance parties will have to be reasonable with the overall aim and cooperation to defeat BJP/ NDA. Old formulas, strengths, history will come under review. Nothing is static. Alliance parties will come to know that they should play straight, not in devious ways.
  • The real fight against Modi/ BJP/ RSS at this crucial juncture is carried out only by Congress, especially by Rahul and Gandhi family. All other opposition parties are remaining in the borderlines giving mixed signals and indulging in shadow boxing to keep them in the news to claim share for holding on to their captive voters.
  • Congress may probably appoint active, popular, mass leaders to take charge at the state level irrespective of their seniority. There will be organizational elections sooner than later. The rules, process of elections, membership, etc., will be simplified and it will be made open by including online membership.
  • The organization will be made self-surviving. It should be so as it should not lose its prominence and influence irrespective of the presence or absence of any leader. The practice of group leaders, dual loyalty will be delinked and removed in due course.
  • Modi has reached his peak. There is no need to flatten the curve. It is already on a downward trend.
  • The number of people believing Modi has drastically come down. His lies and monologues have no audience. He has managed to earn enemies everywhere including students.
  • People are not going to be carried away by his religious and social divide agenda. Ram mandir is already discounted and has become stale. No one has energy now for religious riots but there may be only riots for food if the economic situation and pandemic spread continue to worsen.
  • Erstwhile partners of NDA and its supporters from outside are not going to trust him anymore as all his games and tricks are well known. They may like to deal with a trustworthy person/s.
  • His B team of Kejriwal and Owaisi may not be able to split votes or manage to get seats to the extent they imagine. They will come to know about it soon.
  • NCP and Trinamool Congress may not anymore be attracted to NDA. Some leaders may be enticed or forced to join NDA and they will find their irrelevance and natural political end.
  • NDA is likely to lose its hold in the Hindi belt. It is going to be highly unlikely that their fortune is going to change in the Southern belt or other areas despite all the tantrums and fishing they are indulging in. Indeed, 2024 is far away but it is not going to give relief for BJP. The situation is going to worsen for them. One cannot expect a miracle cure or vaccination for their deficiencies and diseases.
  • Modi has exhausted all his techniques. Even old BJP warriors won’t believe him. He has created a new class of ‘warriors’ who are unruly, impulsive, ‘trigger’ happy, suppressing people’s voices, and showing their superiority by misusing the power drawn from the silent and overt endorsement of BJP/ RSS wings including ‘submissive and disciplined’ Government agencies.
  • Everything has to come to an end. The suppressed voices are getting bolder. When the pressure gets unbearable to withstand it will burst nastily on the face of BJP/RSS with the cumulative effect of other issues and the sufferings the people have undergone during the Modi regime.

Endnote:

  • It is India’s ‘Tryst with destiny’ of this century. We have a knack of inviting miseries and have the patience to suffer through it.
  • People will again get back their independence. Congress beckons freedom for everyone.
  • Satanic verses and forces are waiting for the break up of Congress. It has broken to such an extent that it is indivisible now.
  • It is immaterial if few skins peel out or shed. New healthier skin will emerge. It is a growth process. It happened time and again.
  • It is set for growing exponentially embracing truth, love, and peace.
