The need of the hour is to unite

The need of the hour is to unite all those who are opposed to Modi, Shah and RSS to defeat their strategy of dividing people, spreading hatred to impose their ideology. Most of the opposition parties groups are united by their secular, democratic vein but divided by egos.

What is the purpose of having or forming separate parties or groups when there is no logical reason except for personal domination, the progress of their leaders or groups? When they are bound by equality and justice where is the justification to impose one’s superiority?

The left parties and few other regional parties have different roots and ideology though most of them are bound by secularism and equality. Most of the other parties have roots in Congress ideology. Why should they stand divided and pull each other down benefitting BJP?

No group wants to give the other groups their space. There is scope for a win-win situation if they explore. What was needed was a conversation between them. That was not happening due to their pride, prejudices, self-esteem, mistrust and also power bargain, benefits involved.

The political party is an instrument to communicate with people and execute their views and aspirations. It is not a weapon to manipulate, misuse or divide people for political, personal benefits. But parties, groups mainly indulge in power bargains. People are forgotten.

We need not bother too much about whether the groups are functioning within a party or outside it. All are isolated power centres having a hold on to their groups. When many groups combine to rule with no discipline, blackmailing, backstabbing, bargaining becomes a rule.

What we need is democracy and discussion to evolve the right solution. They have to work together. Individual opinion, perception, conclusions are not important. Exchange of views, opinions with everyone is needed. Then why they hold on to individual, group, party identities.

One should know how to work within a democracy. You are to respect others’ views. You need others for discussions. If you say others are to carry out your dictates without questions you are not part of democracy. You are a dictator. You aim to get what you do not deserve.

You are to expect that some of your views will not be accepted and may be rejected outright. What is needed is to examine where it is wrong and represent your case. Even top leaders’ views may be rejected and not accepted sometimes. They have to honour it. That is democracy.

When you are in a public space you are to check your weaknesses, likes, dislikes and learn to deal with issues dispassionately, transparently. Only if that is mastered one can become a successful, lovable leader acceptable to all sections of people and society of our country.

Everyone cannot become a top leader. Why not allow the democratic process to throw up a leader. The popular choice of the people will become visible or will emerge on its own. If the political leaders truly have concerns for people, then they should honour their verdict.

In fact, one has to search for a truly democratic political party within our great democracy. We have rajas, chieftains, power lords holding on to territories waiting to be seized by ‘Emperor Modi’ with his troops of traders, businessmen reflecting British linkages, practices.

Maybe with this threat of ‘Neo-British colonialists’ and supremacists, Rahul is intending to relay the democratic platform of Congress. This is part of his plans to resurrect and restore the Congress party to its Gandhian ways to secure India’s independence from Modi.

Rahul said anyone who believes in Congress ideology can return. If the democratic process is laid It will be open for anyone to earn the trust, affection, recognition to become mass leaders to serve them, the party and the nation. The groups, parties can unite leaving their egos.
