Initiatives in building relationships

Our opposition parties, its leaders were creating illusions and pollutions to mobilise voters. They thought they were smart until fascists came to the scene. They are unable to withstand or understand how to respond to the masters in this art with added dimensions of thuggery.

The sad part is most of these parties are still living in Utopia, maybe dying with illusions. Even their sapne is not green but smoky or shaky. They are still not ready to accept reality and work for the unity of the opposition parties. That is the only option left for them.

The leaders of non-congress opposition parties with few exceptions are so obdurate and obstinate that they are working more for Congress-mukt Bharat than BJP while blaming Congress for the weak opposition. Congress should bring logic, sense with frank, no-nonsense discussions.

It is true that they are a hard nut to crack. Congress has to attempt to de-rust, defrost relationships with some warmth, openness. But they should not wait for their benevolence or mercy. The other options may be simpler or harder depending on one’s positivity or negativity.

Congress has to understand its USP with the presence of charismatic leaders like Rahul, Priyanka. No one else has an all India appeal among masses. Beyond the service and sacrifice of their family, the brand name earned, Rahul, Priyanka have love, commitment for our people and nation.

Congress failed to bring in Rahul as President with or without elections. The senior leaders have botched again to bring aggression, positivity. They should have strengthened Rahul’s position giving enough freedom for him to act; bring in dynamism and activities in Congress.

Rahul does not want to hurt his seniors. This reluctance is counterproductive. What is important is not what his seniors think or whether they got hurt but what the Congress and nation need. His reluctance to break path is misinterpreted as being a parttime politician.

Having a dig at Rahul is the pastime of nonCongress leaders. He does not get hurt by such remarks. But he was more dismayed by lack of support from Congress leaders. They continue to be lethargic, inactive; shift the blame on Rahul. But his throwing in the towel may not be right.

There are other ways to deal with it. One has to give weightage to the cost, damage to the party and nation over the niceties of personal relationships and rapport. Sometimes one does fail to overcome some inborn qualities to maintain strict professional dynamics needed.

Such civilities, courtesies are in their blood. We have to accept them. Even Priyanka did not enter politics and Rahul left it to her personal choice. She was goaded by her wards to plunge in politics. She was perhaps wasting charismatic potential to attract and serve people.

Maybe they have underestimated their potential. But definitely, they are underutilising it. They love our people. People love and trust them. But there is some hesitancy or blocks to build a strong direct relationship. It has not yet fully blossomed into a mature one.

Beyond their natural liking, its utility for the party, they should think of its need and use for the people and the nation. Love should not remain unexpressed; need initiatives. Even a love letter sometimes needs some weight to reach the doors of a person or people concerned.
